How do I export my contacts from Outlook?

Export instructions for the following email clients are available online:

Exporting From Hotmail

Internet Explorer
  • Sign in to your Hotmail account.
  • Click the Contacts tab.
  • Click Print view.
  • Align the cursor with the first letter of the ‘Name’ column.
  • Highlight your contacts by holding down the cursor and dragging it down the list.
  • Hold down CTRL+C to copy the list.
  • Open Microsoft Excel (or a similar spread sheet program that supports comma separated values).
  • Select cell A1 in Excel (the top square on the left side).
  • Hold down CTRL+V to paste (don’t use ‘Paste Special’).
  • Click Save as in the File menu, and then select CSV (Comma delimited) as the file type.
Firefox
  • Sign in to your Hotmail account.
  • Click the Contacts tab.

  • Right-click in cell A1 and select Paste Special.
  • Select Text, and click OK.
  • Click Save as in the File menu, and then select CSV (Comma delimited) as the file type.

Once you’ve exported your contacts in CSV format, you’ll be able to import them into the email system.
