Transactional SMSes are once-off messages that are sent to contacts automatically, based on a contact's action.
Transactional SMSes are useful for sending One-Time Pins, eCommerce notifications, or notifications of online banking log in attempts.
You can only create transactional SMSes using the API. Please read our API documentation for details on how to do this.
To access reports on transactional SMSes, log into your account and click the Transactional SMS button in the top right of the screen.
The Transactional SMS dashboard shows you all of the transactional SMSes you have sent, as well as how many credits you have, and how many were used in the current month. Transactional SMSes use the same pool of credits as Bulk SMSes. You can top-up your SMS quota using the Top Up button on the dashboard, or via the accounts section.
Transactional SMSes do not support multi-part SMS. This means that you are limited to 160 characters, including spaces.
The admin page offers an overview report of how many message credits you've used, how many messages were sent and how many failed.
If you are going to use Transactional SMSes, you must change your API key for all existing API calls.
The new API key is displayed on the Transactional SMS dashboard, on the right hand side.
